What makes a good nurse or doctor? How do we foster the ideals of care? 

A few places left...BOOK NOW!

This weekend retreat is for anyone who wants to reflect on these issues.

It is open to healthcare professionals, chaplains and volunteers, and also to anyone caring for sick family or friends, or who faces or who has faced illness in their own lives.

What can you expect?

  • Shared meals and comfortable rooms
  • Mass and sung Prayer of the Church with the community
  • Talks and space for reflection
  • Plenty of time for personal prayer
  • Option of meals in silence
  • Beautiful gardens and countryside

The retreat will be led by: 

Speakers will include:

Dr John Roper, a Community Paediatrician working in St Helens. He has travelled to Lourdes every year for the past 40 years, including the Easter Pilgrimage of HCPT, for 30 years as a doctor.

Sr Maureen O'Driscoll is both a member of the Franciscan Missionaries of St. Joseph and an RGN and Children's Nurse. She will reflect on caring for sick children and their families.

Sr Margaret Atkins, an Augustinian Sister of the Boarbank Community, and a former university lecturer and has a long-standing interest in the ethics of healthcare.

Standard prices apply for our Guest House per night (full board and lodging), (CLICK HERE for details) and we would also ask for a donation to help with course costs, speakers etc, as you are able and think appropriate.

Payment by donation only is available to students, the low-paid or anyone who needs it to attend. Please don’t hesitate to ask!
