Professor Rosemary Mitchell
We are very sad to announce the death of Rosemary Mitchell, a close friend and collaborator of Boarbank, who had helped us with many courses, including, notably, the Faith and the Arts Autumn Break weeks.

Rosemay had been Professor of History at Trinity College, Leeds (where she was a colleague of Sr Margaret Atkins), and left to train for Anglican orders. After completing her course, and pastoral experience, which she greatly enjoyed, she was ordained deacon in Ripon Cathedral on 3rd July this year, and immediately left to start a new life as curate in Skipton.

Sadly, this was not to be, as she was almost immediately diagnosed with the illness that took her life. We are deeply grateful to Rosemary for all she has contributed to the life of Boarbank over the past two decades. May she rest in peace.

A few words from Sr Margaret

"Rosemary died at 11 pm on Monday evening (20th September 2021) - the change in her condition was the final stage, and although it was physically tough, it was emotionally and spiritually as good as it could have been. I was there with two close friends and ex-colleagues, and we sang her into eternity with Hymns Ancient and Modern. Very moving and just as she would have wanted."
