“To sense each creature singing the hymn of its existence is to live joyfully in God’s love and hope” (Catholic Bishops of Japan, quoted by Pope Francis). You are invited to take time with us in the lovely setting of Boarbank Hall in Cumbria to ponder God’s Creation in an atmosphere of prayer, joy and hope.
In May we run Two Wings & Some Prayers, a birdwatching retreat which offers trips to some fine local birdwatching sites, along with talks, social time and a chance for regular prayer with the Boarbank Sisters. We also have a focus on helping people learn birdsong (without just relying on Merlin!) This May, we hope to keep up our record of at least 100 species each year! Dr Margaret Phillips will join us for this as our expert bird guide.
In October, our Recreation! week focuses on re-energising those who are committed to living their faith with hope, in a a world of ecological challenges. It will include talks, fun, conversations, art, liturgy, gardening and walks. John Paul de Quay of the Ecological Conversion Group will join Sr Margaret Atkins of Boarbank in leading this.
