In the light of exciting recent events, we have decided to update the them of our Thinking Faith week to ‘Why Leo?’
The week will explore the background of Pope Leo XIV and his choice of name. Topics will include St Augustine’s Rule, the Augustinian Friars, missionary life in Peru, Pope Leo the Great, Pope Leo XIII and Rerum Novarum, and reflections on the current technological revolution. The course is run by Sr Margaret Atkins, of the Boarbank Augustinian Community and Fr Richard Finn OP. Guest speakers will include Fr Ian Wilson OSA, an Augustinian friar who is the Prior General’s Assistant for Northern Europe. The week is aimed at working Catholics who would like the chance to combine a holiday with a retreat and conversations with like-minded friends.
